After his accountancy training Peter Van Haeften (1963) started working in the eighties as a controller and Chief Controller at, among others, (the former) Moret Ernst & Young, where he worked for seven years. In his free time he followed the post-doctoral accountant training which he successfully completed in 1996. Afterwards he started working as a chartered accountant at HBH among others. In 2008 he passed the post-doctoral training as a legal expert at the University of Leiden. At Horatio Peter works as a specialist as a senior chartered accountant.
“ As I have worked on a considerable number of damages cases over the years, and through my long experience as an accountant I have seen so many different businesses and seen and analysed so many different annual accounts that I bring greater insight into my regular accountancy work. I am thus better able to analyse annual accounts and see where the bottlenecks are, and then to advise an entrepreneur. My work has much in common with business advisory, with subjects such as added value, profitability, financing and investment.”
As I have worked internally as a controller in businesses I am well acquainted with the whims and with the problems of administrative responsibilities of entrepreneurs. I am closely involved in setting up the administration of my clients, from starters to large enterprises.
Entrepreneurs must be able to involve their ambition in their administration. I stimulate them in this, and advise them on the administrative path to follow to realise their ambition. Without losing their creativity, that goes without saying. We like entrepreneurs with ideas. Many entrepreneurs go left today and want to go right tomorrow. The administration must be able to follow, support and bear the consequences.
